Three different experiments are embedded in the study, investigating the effects of two-step questions as opposed to single questions with a larger number of answer options, the effects of adding a don’t know-option and the effects of using a probe in case of a ‘don’t know’ response. The three experiments were combined in such a way that they resulted in six experimental conditions, to which the respondents were randomly assigned. |
